What is the Kf series?

The Solahart Kf Series is a roof-mounted, closed circuit solar hot water system specifically designed to provide the ultimate efficiency for use in low to medium solar gain areas. The high efficiency absorber with its Black Chrome Selective Coating ensures the maximum absorption of available solar energy. The closed circuit design makes it suitable for frost-prone or harsh water areas. Solahart solar geysers utilise an efficient slimline double-coated ceramic lined tank that retains heat much longer than normal tanks.

How the water is heated

The Kf Series features Solahart’s revolutionary multi-flow solar collector panel.The panels are filled with Hartguard, an anti-freeze additive developed especially for Solahart solar geysers. Once the Hartguard is hot enough, it moves to the double ceramic lined tank. The Hartguard flows inside the ceramic lining of the tank to heat the water inside the tank.  The panel uses 35 risers to extract the maximum amount of energy from the sun.

The role of the sacrificial anode

To protect the system against corrosion, Solahart solar geysers come equipped with an anode. The anode attracts corrosive materials in the water. The impurities stick to the replaceable anode, which protects the rest of the unit from corrosion. To ensure that you have hot water, even in the coldest conditions, the tank is equipped with either an electric, gas or in-line gas booster.

 

The Solahart Streamline Unit

The Streamline Unit uses solar panels on the roof much like the Kf Series, but the geyser is stored next to the house, not on the roof. This unit is beneficial to clients who prefer not to have the geyser on the roof. The Streamline unit makes use of an electrical pump to transfer the hot Hartguard® from the solar panels to the tank.

Colorbond® Colour-Coded Tanks

The Colorbond® Colour-Coded Tank allows homeowners to match the colour of the tank to the colour of their roof. These systems look great and are protected against corrosion.


The Colorbond® system comes in Night Sky (black), Paperbark® (beige), Windspray® (steel), Woodland Grey®(dark grey/slate), Headland® (red), Blue Ridge® (blue), Shale Grey™ (light grey), Pale Eucalypt® (light green), Surfmist® (off-white) and Jasper® (brown).  The Colorbond® is applied directly to the tank.

The FD-15 Gas Booster

Solahart clients have the option of replacing the standard electric element with the FD-15 Gas Booster. The booster has no gas-guzzling pilot light. Instead, it relies on an electric spark to light the booster, should the water not be warm enough. Clients who want to live completely off the grid can connect the system to a solar-powered battery, rendering it perfect for game reserves with limited access to electricity.
